Have you ever wondered how the pro's do their reviews? Or, do you want to do your own, and just don't know how to start? Well, this guide should help you out!

Disclaimer: as this is my first column, expect there to be some mistakes... OK? Good.

Now, first you have to chose a spot. A good spot is one with good lighting and is in a convenient for you to pace your camera.

Second, You need to select a camera. I suggest one with no less then 7.5 megapixels. I personally use a Sony Cybershot with 8.1 MP.

Third, You need to select an audio source. You need to decide whether you will take the camera's audio, or use a mic, like Mr. S.

Fourth, you need to decide which video editor you will use. First starting out, you might want something easy to use, like Apple iMovie, or for the PC, Windows Movie Maker. As you get to know the editing process, you may want to switch to a more advanced editor. I personally recommend either FinalCut Pro, for the mac, or either Adobe Premiere Pro, or Pinnacle Studio, I use Studio as it is easier to learn and it has great built in effects. If you need a free one, use Pinnacle Video Spin, just like Studio, but without as many effects, and its FREE!

Fifth, you need to do what I call "Pimping Out Your Space", that means that you get a white bed sheet, or a white display board, and some good fluorescent lights. T hose will give you the whitest light for the price.

Finally, you need to decide how you will encode and upload your edited video. I encode in 720p with a ratio of 16:9 in the .AVI format, and then uploading to the site of choice. For me, it takes about 4 1/2 hours to fully encode and upload. I then wait for YouTube to process it, and then release it to the public.

Hope it helps all you new and upcoming reviewers!
