CSToys Blog would like to wish everyone a happy holiday (because we're worldwide, it's not just Christmas)! From the bottom of our hearts we hope you have a wonderful time and we'll do the same. This coming 2011 CSToys Blog will be going under some organizational and structural changes including a new leader of the CSToys Blog! CSToys Blog Editor-in-Chief position

Hi everyone,
Well let's start things off with what's going on. Right now I'm looking for a new Editor-in-Chief. However this new chief will have large shoes to fill... mine. The new chief will be in charge of the creative direction of the blog. I am not quitting but I'll be stepping back from the creative directives of the blog. I will still handle administration and financial aspects of the blog. Basically we need someone creative, who has a strong motivation and has vision to go towards. They are also leaders.

Here's the job description:
The top editor sometimes has the title executive editor or editor-in-chief. This person is generally responsible for the content of the publication. The executive editor sets the publication standards for performance, as well as for motivating and developing the staff. The executive editor is responsible for strategic and operational planning. The executive editor is effectively the head of the blog and has considerable influence on its content.

Well if that's you prepare to send in a application with a reference, some previous work to ryokuya[at]cstoysblog.com. This is the biggest job on the blog and the most honorary. Current editors can apply for the leader's position and other staff.

I currently have to focus on my courses in university and a new project which I'll reveal sometime in December possibly. So I need someone to help me while I'm away. We need this blog moving and this person I'm looking for has to be able to do that.

Due to our growth we have decided to expand our range of articles. CSToys Blog is looking for more writers on team. What are we looking for? We are looking for Reviewers mainly, but also a bit more reporters. As for the vacant editor positions, that will be decided later. So here is the job descriptions:

CSToys Blog Shop

Due to Gideon letting the cat out of the bag I now have to show you guys what I've been up to. Introducing the CSToys Blog Shop, an online T-Shirt store that has all the coolest brand names affiliated with CS Toys. The shop unfortunately does not ship totally international unlike the actual and amazing CS Toys International. So if you want to see what countries are available please read here. If you really want one, we suggest going through a middleman. The money generated will go towards improving the blog further since we have no source of funding and our wallets are empty because we buy a lot from CS Toys... The money will also go to RRR, Gideon Burogu and possibly more. Currently shirts with the CSToys Blog logo are unavailable but we'll keep you updated. We're not going to make a lot off the shirts but we give the value to you guys so we can make sure we can generate at least a few cents.

Now to the Blog Team who want to buy a shirt or shirts. Some of the shirts will have a Team discount so don't buy them yet. If you want to get the discount let me know so I can give you the Team discounted price via email or whatever.

CSToys Blog is calling all of you artist! Yes that's right you guys who love to draw and send in those amazing drawings. We've seen your talent in Matsuyama and now we challenge you to show your talent in the CSToys Blog. We are holding a major challenge to draw us a mascot for the blog. It could be anything from a walking gaia memory to a ranger dressed in blog colors. The possibilities of what you could draw are nearly limitless. Have I got your interest now? Now you want to join? Well all you got to do is send in your drawings to cstoysblog@gmail.com and put your subject as "OMC Entry". Another option is just posting a comment with your entry for all to see! Simple enough, right? This is your chance to have your drawing become a symbol of CSToys Blog! However we do have a few rules for this challenge...

1. All entries MUST be sent to cstoysblog@gmail.com or commented on this article.
2. You are allowed to submit as many entries as you like but remember one drawing will be selected from the many.
3. The mascot(s) can be a team as an entry but please make sure you indicate that.
4. All entries must be relevant to tokusatsu, CSToys and/or CSToys Blog.
5. CSToys Blog Team Members are allowed to participate.
6. The winning entry will become property of the CSToys Blog.
7. Winner will be required to help draw the mascot in various poses.
8. Ending date will be announced at a later date so please submit all entries as soon as possible.
9. Late entries will become invalid and will not be able to participate.
10. If winning entry is a pencil drawing it will become digitally rendered.

RRR Promotion or... RR

Well here at the CSToys Blog we once again always promote our successful team members. Now who better to kick it off with Shuki, Jedimon & DosmRider. Just recently Mr. S got invited to RRR as their special guest and will be making his premiere on the next Podcast of RRR episode 8. Let's hope it going to be another smash hit! I also hope those guys make a post sometime here... Anyway we would like to congratulate them on their new domain name and a big thank you to Mr. S for helping them. I do have a few concerns for RRR though... their logo...

The Weekly Round Up

Another week has passed and the team did a spectacular job posting the latest news while I was away, maybe I should be away more often... Anyway just to let you guys know I was just touring around with family and celebrated a whole bunch of things. Now that that is over and I am back to work, but I will be on and off the blog this week finishing a project with Strikees, the CSToys Forum Administrator/Owner. I hope to get it done this week. In other news I got a Macbook and I lost some fonts I used for some of the banners and I had to substitute them with a different one. I'm still doing upgrades to blog so if you notice some bug, don't mind it or if it doesn't go away let me know. Lastly we will be increasing the amount of featured articles and we'll be preparing for a major event in a couple of months. So stayed tuned. Now on to the weekly round up!

Ultraman! Kamen Rider! The Power Rangers! These and many other
colorful crusaders of justice are now recognized the world over as
essential icons of Japanese pop culture. But where did they come from?
Who created them? And what is it really like battling rubber monsters
and the forces of evil on a regular basis?

Join hosts Patrick Macias (editor, Otaku USA magazine), August Ragone
(author, Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters), and Tomohiro Machiyama
(founding editor, Movie Treasures magazine) as they explore the
fascinating history and origins of Japanese superheroes using rare
film clips and images from numerous tokusatsu, sentai, and henshin

We can all identify with the existence of those otherworldly masked wonders in one way or another, but who is that familiar man with the windblown hair dressed up as Kikaida's Jiro below!? Why, it's none other than our fearless Editor-in-Chief, Patrick Macias, pictured once again leaping to save the day with an informative Tokyoscope talk.

Previous editions of the Tokyoscope series ranged from Pink films to Yakuza cinema, and this next one is a real treat for fans of rubber-suited heroics. Tokyoscope Vol. 5: "Japanese Superheroes" features Macias, along with the legendary Tomohiro Machiyama and titan of all things tokusatsu, August Ragone.

Together they'll explain the history behind wonders such as Kamen Rider and Ultraman, how they all came to be and what makes them so doggone awesome. While this was announced a few days ago, it's of especially extreme significance now thanks to the new flyer whipped up by the always incredible Kazumi Nonaka (AKA Batty Cheese).

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight wins Emmy!

That's right, not only was it nominated, but Dragon Knight managed to win the daytime Emmy for Outstanding Stunt Coordination! Pretty good for a show that's been canceled 6 months. Congratulations to the Dragon Knight team! The photo is from Steve Wang's facebook, clipped by AllieRX of HJU.
