This week marked the appearance of pictures of the Power Rangers Samurai toy line. Like many, I was surprised and disappointed.

It's Halloween, and people are thinking about inspirations of dread. One of tokusatsu's great qualities is its ability to conjure horrifying monsters and villains. When Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers started airing on U. S. television, nobody knew what to expect, and plenty of us were blindsided by what we saw.

Power Rangers Samurai 'Sneak Peek' to Air on Nicktoons!

According to NickandMore (http://www.nickandmore.com/), a special 'sneak peek' of Power Rangers Samurai will air on Nicktoons.

A Power Rangers Samurai "sneak peek" will air on Nicktoons 11/25 at 9pm and 11/27 at 10pm! (FYI, don't know if it's a full episode or not.)

We have some PR-on-NickToons news! And it's not what we've been on DefCon 5 for, either! You'll have something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving weekend as we get three sneak peeks of Power Rangers Samurai on NickToons during their All-Heroes Weekend. The times for the sneak peeks (they may be the same thing three times, or three different, there's no way to know) are:

* Thursday, Nov. 25 at 9 p.m.
* Saturday, Nov. 27 at 10 p.m. (or just a few minutes before)
* Sunday, Nov. 28 at 9 a.m.

So keep your eyes peeled, and prepare for it to be uploaded the day it shows (yes, I'm that sure someone will upload it). :)

A 'Not-So-Big' Power Rangers Casting Update

As the title says, this isn't that BIG of an update.

Some actors from Kam Talent will have roles as 'extras' on Power Rangers Samurai, as well as some speaking roles. This would be pretty obvious, considering they have 'casting shout-out' on their site that reads:

A new season is going to be made, so we are looking for people who would like to get involved.

We are looking for men and women aged between 16 and 25, good and interesting looks, good availability and have transport. Open to any ethnicity.

Filming is in Auckland region.

Why a Recurring Cast for Power Rangers Now Makes Sense

For many years, Power Rangers fans have wished for the brand to return to its original owner, Saban. But for a stretch of time just as long, it seemed like this would never happen. It was just one more idle fantasy, one more way to make Power Rangers "good again" that only a world more perfect than ours was capable of.

The ability to follow the lives of one single social circle as it, and its components, grew and changed over a number of years is an appeal unique to the three seasons of the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. For many Power Rangers fans watching from day one, this high school soap opera element was every bit as interesting as the monsters, robots and martial arts action. It is one of the few pieces of the original series' winning formula that later entries have not attempted to replicate, favoring the Super Sentai model of making each season a distinct and self-contained storyline.

Saban Brands at European Brand Licensing Expo

Well, day one of the Brand Licensing Expo in London was today, we thanks to some forum members we got some more interviews and some photos.

We got a lot of information for the plans in Europe, including the agents for their airing, when the show will premiere (Fall 2011) and that the toyline will launch their at the same time and into Spring of 2012. Keep in mind, this is for Europe not the US. Also, Saban may or may not have acquired the rights to the Decade/Shinkenger crossover episodes. Now, onto the pictures....

More Details about Power Rangers Samurai

Another article, thanks to World Screen. Looks like we'll be seeing more about Samurai at the European Licensing Expo next week, stay tuned!

LONDON: The upcoming 18th season of the Power Rangers, which will air on Nickelodeon and Nicktoons in North America in 2011, features a Samurai theme, Saban Brands has revealed.

Production is under way on 40 episodes of Power Rangers Samurai, which is being launched to the international broadcast community by Saban Brands and MarVista Entertainment at MIPCOM. At Brand Licensing Europe next week, Elie Dekel, the president of Saban Brands, and Kirk Bloomgarden, senior VP of international licensing, will be shoring up L&M deals.

In the new season, the young Rangers must master Samurai skills and develop their unique powers over the elements of fire, water, sky, forest, and earth, in order to face off against the Evil Master Xandred.

[UPDATED] "Power Rangers Samurai" CONFIRMED- Name changes, logo, description, and more!

Yesterday, we were surprised by the official Power Rangers site with the other four 'Power Rangers Samurai' Kanji symbols. Today- well, I'll just let this speak for itself:



That's right, POWER RANGERS SAMURAI. PowerRangers.com has been updated and we know that the series will run for about two years through 2012. Also, the names of the characters have been changed as well.

Baron>Kevin

Parry>Mike

Sadie>Mia

Ava>Emily

Now, what this means as far as seeing a Goseiger adaption? We'll just have to wait and see. It's obvious Team Saban has faith in the franchise, and believes 'Power Rangers Samurai' will be successful! Stay tuned for more info within the coming weeks to months.

FUN FACT: When Tony Oliver was at Power Morphicon 2 a few weeks back, he told someone in a quick interview that the fandom would start hearing official names and titles within 4-5 weeks! ;-)

New Power Rangers 2011 Cast Member!

So, after watching a recent video of Hector David Jr. (refer to his FB fan page), I went to the site called, "Ludus Magnus" where I then went to their FB page. after skimming through, I found an update that revealed who the mentor of the show will be.

Rene Naufahu will be playing the role, who according to IMDB appears to be named 'Takeru.'



Fans will be more familiar with Rene as the voice behind SPD's Emperor Gruumm.

Naji and Hector were buzzing at the end of their session, as was their mentor in the latest series Rene Naufahu who ripped it up down at Ludus tonight. New Power Rangers Site Launches!

No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you! You read the title right, Saban Brands has Relaunched the new and improved (on some parts) Power Rangers site! It has a very similar feel to the Disney site, but much improved in a lot of areas.

Check the site for all the awesome features including: Ranger bios, games, downloads, and even the first episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, "Day of the Dumpster."

Promoting the forthcoming Power Moprhicon 2 CSToys Blog will be releasing some Power Rangers articles and what better way to start that than Linkara's History of Power Rangers. Here is a great look at Power Rangers Time Force which I definitely liked along with Power Rangers in Space. With Lightspeed Rescue close to second. I just hope the Shinkenger adaptation will be just as good. Anyway if I'm not mistaken Mr. S will be heading off to LAX tonight right after the Pack & Ship Show so greet him a safe trip! Power Rangers Returns to Studio West

Some may be familiar with Studio West (Auckland, New Zealand), but for those who aren't, they are the home of the first five Disney-produced seasons: Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, SPD, Mystic Force, and Operation Overdrive.

I was contacted by a representative of Studio West, and they revealed that Power Rangers will be returning to studio under the helm of Saban Brands (Haim Saban).
